Made from 100% organic cotton and a blend of organic beeswax and essential oils, these reusable food wraps and sandwich bags are not only a sustainable alternative to plastic and foil wraps but are also naturally anti-bacterial.
100% unbleached cotton is printed with food safe, environmentally friendly soy ink before being infused with a blend of beeswax and oils from ethically and sustainably run hives. Easy to use, gently warm the material in your hands, place your food item inside the bag or wrap and hold to seal. As the bag cools it will hold its shape creating a seal. (Not suitable for raw meat and fish.)
Handwash wraps and sandwich bags in cold water with an eco-friendly dish soap and air dry.
In time, the wax coating wears off. When the wax coating has worn away the wraps will start to feel soft and will begin to have trouble sticking to themselves. You can refresh your food wraps at any time using the Natural Elements Eco-Friendly Bee’s Wax Refresh Cubes, available separately. The cubes are made of the same blend of beeswax and essential oils that the materials were coated with to start with.
For the best results, freeze the wax cubes over night before use. Take one or two wax cubes (depending on the size of wrap or bag being refreshed) and grate onto the food wrap or sandwich bag. Place the wrap/bag between two sheets of grease proof paper and iron using a low temperature. Once the wrap/bag has cooled naturally you’re ready to start using again. To remove wax from grater, use boiling water.
